Quilt Shop Visit and Give Away Winners!

We all have happy places and mine tend to center around fiber and fabric. Yarn  and quilt shops to be specific. And with that said after another period of "under the weather*" weather I did just that. Headed down the mountain to my favorite quilt shop the Blue Iris . Always busy around the cutting tables.
*yup another week long stretch of rain, mud, rain, wind, did I mention rain?

And they have a large selection of fabrics , helpful staff and potlucks!

Color everywhere including above you.

Lovely scrap quilt offered in a class for eye candy behind the register.

The quilt class to go with the Keffe Fassett newly arrived collection!

Do you quilt and fancy chickens also? This
one is for you!

A cozy seating arrangement if you are needing a time out to contemplate that potential new project or chat with one of the ladies in the shop.

More color and another amazing quilt!

And a play on buy local.

Did I purchase anything? Well yes I did but you will have to wait to see it as it goes in a birthday gift for a year from now. Sorry can't take a chance on blowing my cover. Guess you will just have to stay tuned for a bit.

Now for the business end of this post. Yesterday was the twentieth and the winners were picked for the 3 bar gift pack of hand crafted goat milk soap from The Soap Works on Ash Creek ( a very clean division of Walnetto Farm) and they are Leigh Tate of 5 Acres & A Dream visit her at    http://www.5acresandadream.com/

And Mama Pea of  A Home Grown Journal   visit her at http://ahomegrownjournal.blogspot.com/

Ladies I will be mailing next at end of coming week. I will email you each after I mail with an ETA. Enjoy and thanks for commenting on the blog.

Dang, but I feel so lucky to be receiving the 3 bar pack of soap from you! Thank you so much! The Internet, modern technology, blogging, etc. is great but getting something via snail mail (especially something special like this) is still a welcome thrill.

Oh, what a lovely quilt shop you have to visit. Unfortunately, our little area has nothing. My very favorite shop which was 80 miles away, but on the way to our shopping expeditions to the Big City, closed several years ago and I still mourn it. :o( It's so inspiring to go into a quilt shop such as you have. Feel some fabric for me next time you go, will you??

First except my sympathy on the lose of your quilt shop. I am really happy about living where we do as it is a win win. Large average nearest neighbors about a mile or two in any direction but nearest quilt shop in little town about 20 minutes away. If I toss in about another ten in driving time I have two more quilt shops and a yarn weaving shop.

Mama Pea I am delighted that you won some soap. I love that you take the time to check out my blog. I enjoy writing it and it is nice to have your comments.

I'm thrilled to be one of your winners! And I'm excited for Mama Pea as well, she's one of my favorite encouragers. :)

The quilts and fabrics are beautiful. I confess to having a weakness for both color and fabric (fleece, and yarn). Quiltmaking was my first textile love and I think that someday I'll get back to it (in all my spare time, LOL)

Greetings Danice and thank you for the visit. I just love Blue Iris and spent the several hours there today as every Wednesday (baring a workshop or class) is free sewing day. Such a treat to be able to spread out on large tables and cutting areas. I returned your visit and enjoyed your blog very much.

Kathy thanks for your kind words about Blue Iris. I will pass it on to Jerry the owner. She and her staff work hard to make the shop and the activities user friendly and like a home away from home. Hope you get to your quilt shop soon. You are welcome to drop by for a visit any time.
