NEW LIFE ON THE FARM
Welcome to Walnetto Farm in the most southern tip of the Cascade Mountain range. Just a stone's toss from Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park and all the treasures these mountains hold. We raise LaMancha dairy goats, laying hens and garden. A homestead realized on "42 Acres of Paradise" off the grid.

Your Jersey photos are so appealing. Almost makes me want a cow! Almost, but not really. I could never give up my goats. ;)
I agree Leigh. As much as I adore Jersey's and have raised many a Jersey drop calf on my "extra" goats milk and with as much as I love cream goats rule.
I just thank God I have a generous neighbor who provides me with all the cream and whole raw milk I could want. Her Jersey milk cows are the bomb and I am grateful.
We've actually been bantering around (are we really serious?!) the pros and cons of keeping a cow (could any cow be more beautiful than a Jersey?), but so far have remained in command of our sensible brain cells because, well, we ARE trying to simplify our lives, right?

I do get it though downsizing or not. How about a mini-Jersey? There is a gal in Idaho who does are fabulous job with her herd.
On the other hand unless one has a back up band think 310 day lactation's , calving yearly. But then there is the cream and the milk and butter and whipped cream. I am no help am I?
Oooh, I was going to say a mini Jersey! That is right up my alley and on my retirement list.
